**The settings menu is the only way to win.**
Every level in this little platformer is impossible. The bridge is missing, the exit is sealed behind glass, the ledge is far too high.
So you pause the game, open the settings menu, and start breaking things. The game takes every setting completely literally.
- **Brightness:** some blocks only exist in the dark. Others only appear in blinding light.
- **Text size:** every sign is solid. Make the text bigger and the sign that says BRIDGE becomes one.
- **Language:** switch the signs to Deutsch and SPEED LIMIT becomes GESCHWINDIGKEITSBEGRENZUNG, which is long enough to walk across.
- **Frame rate limit:** at 5 FPS the physics only checks for walls five times a second, so you run straight through the glass. At 10 FPS the flickering lasers are always caught between flickers.
- **Field of view:** to save memory, anything off-camera isn't loaded. Zoom in and the wall stops existing. Zoom out and the platforms beyond the edge of the screen load in.
- **Anti-aliasing:** smooth ramps are too slippery to climb. Turn it off and the jagged edges become stairs.
- **Render resolution:** at 5%, anything thinner than one pixel can't be drawn, so it isn't there.
- **Quality:** on Low, spiked balls don't have enough polygons left for the spikes. On High, leaves grow out of nowhere.
Most of the tricks happen in mid-air: jump, pause, change something, and land on a platform that didn't exist a second ago.
## What's in it
- **21 levels in 6 chapters.** Each chapter unlocks new settings, and the old ones stay available, so later levels have more than one solution.
- **A hidden bug in every level.** An actual bug, crawling around somewhere awkward. Finding them takes the more creative uses of the menu.
- **A finale you can only climb by rolling the credits.**
- **The music listens too.** Lower the frame rate and the beat goes choppy. Lower the resolution and it gets bitcrushed. Turn anti-aliasing off and it goes square-wave.
- **Hints** in the pause menu if you get stuck: a nudge first, then the answer.
## Controls
| | Keyboard | Touch |
|---|---|---|
| Move | ← → or A D | ◀ ▶ |
| Jump | Space, W, ↑ or Z | JUMP |
| Pause / settings | **Esc** or **P** | ESC button |
| Change a setting | ← → (↑ ↓ to pick a row, Tab to switch tabs) | ◀ ▶ |
| Restart level | R | Pause → Restart |
In fullscreen, your browser uses Esc to exit fullscreen, so use **P** to pause instead.
## The demo
The free demo is chapters 1 and 2 (8 levels): Brightness, Text size and Language. The full game adds Frame rate, Field of view, Anti-aliasing, Resolution and Quality, plus the credits finale.
## Notes
- Runs in the browser. No install, no account, no ads.
- Progress and bugs found are saved automatically.
- Best on a keyboard. It works on phones too, but turn the phone sideways.
- Contains flickering lasers. Settings → Audio has a Reduce flashing option.
