# DEAD AIR

**A game show you can't leave.**

It's 1986, and you've just won a seat on *Lucky Star Night*, the friendliest game show on television. Your host is Johnny Lucky, and he's so glad you could make it. The audience loves you, the lights are warm and the wheel is huge.

Spin the wheel and bank enough cash to beat each episode's quota. In the commercial breaks you paint new wedges onto your wheel, buy studio props that change how every spin scores, and pick up cue cards to cheat with. Build the wheel well enough and a single spin can be worth thousands.

The quotas keep climbing, though, and the sponsors get stranger. The audience has started turning around in their seats. The contestants before you left notes taped under the podium. And if you come up short, Johnny can always make you a deal.

## What's in it

- **Spin it yourself.** Hold to grab the wheel, watch the power meter and let go. The wheel has real weight and 16 pegs. You can learn to land where you want, roughly. It still rocks back off the peg sometimes.

- **Build your wheel.** 19 wedges to buy and paint over your old ones: jackpots, multipliers, Spin Again, Lucky 7, Static, the Devil's wedge, and wedges that care about their neighbours.

- **28 studio props** that trigger left to right on every spin, Balatro-style: the Old Microphone, the Horseshoe, the Ventriloquist, the Black Cat...

- **6 cue cards:** Nudge the wheel one wedge after it stops, Re-spin, Double, Encore, Peek and Paint.

- **12 sponsors.** From the second episode on, every show has one, and every one of them bends the rules. Velvet Hand Cigarettes makes the wheel spin backwards. Graceful Rest Funeral Home tapes two extra BUST wedges on. Dr. Grin's Dental halves every score.

- **Johnny's deals.** Fall short of the quota and he'll let it slide, in exchange for your best prop, your tokens or a DEAD AIR wedge taped onto your wheel for good. He'll only offer twice.

- **8 episodes and a Grand Prize.** You'll want to see what it is. Then **Reruns**, the endless mode.

- **It goes wrong slowly.** The VHS picture warps, the band drifts out of tune, the applause sign says things it shouldn't, and the audience starts to watch you instead of the wheel.

- A generative 80s game-show band, a studio audience and Johnny's voice, all made in the browser.
