# BE THE BOSS

**The heroes are coming. You are the final boss.**

Every fantasy adventure ends the same way: a party of heroes kicks down the door of the throne room and beats up the dark lord. Not tonight. You are **Malgrath, the Endless**, this is your throne room, and they did not knock.

## How it plays

- **A bullet hell, turned around.** You are the huge, slow, terrifying thing at the end of the dungeon. They are the tiny, nimble ones weaving through your bullets.

- **The heroes play like players.** They read your patterns and dodge between the gaps, roll through bullets, hold up their shields, heal each other and drag their dead back to their feet.

- **Four attacks, built by you.** Each attack is a **pattern** (Hex Bolt, Fan of Woe, Nova, Spiral, Curtain, Doom Rain, Death Ray, Dark Orbit, Raise Dead), an **ammo** (frost, ember, splitter, homing skull, ricochet, boulder…) and up to two **runes** (haste, volley, swift, curve, giant, echo).

- **Second form.** Drop below half health and Malgrath sprouts wings of fire, gets faster, and the music kicks up a gear. Fill the Wrath bar and press Space for a storm of bullets.

- **The Dark Workshop.** The heroes leave their souls behind. Spend them on new patterns, ammo and runes, and on eight permanent upgrades for your lair.

## Twelve nights

The Squire. A Fellowship of Two. The Healer's Burden. **The Chosen One.** Torches and Pitchforks. The Mages' Guild. Speedrunners. The Chosen One Returns. The Paladin Order. The Guild Raid. Legends of the Realm. **The Prophecy.**

After that: **the Siege**, endless waves for as long as you can last.

## Also

- The heroes have names, opinions and a party frame each, like a raid in an MMO, from the other side.

- Everyone talks in speech bubbles and gibberish voices. Malgrath's is very deep.

- A synthesized organ-and-choir soundtrack that changes when you go into your second form.

- Plays with mouse and keyboard, a gamepad, or touch (with auto-fire and auto-aim).

- Progress saves in your browser.

## The demo

The free demo has the first four nights, up to and including the first visit from the Chosen One, with the four starting patterns, three kinds of ammo, three runes and the first two levels of each lair upgrade. The full game adds eight more nights, five more patterns, four more kinds of ammo, three more runes, the full workshop and the endless Siege.
